Sound
Biography
Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe is a Brooklyn-based composer, vocalist, and modular synthesist working at the intersection of experimental sound art and film scoring. He composed the original score for the Oscar-shortlisted documentary UNION (2024), released as a standalone soundtrack album in 2025, and his film work includes Candyman (2021, dir. Nia DaCosta), Master (dir. Mariama Diallo), and The Color of Care (dir. Yance Ford), along with contributions to Arrival and Sicario. His solo practice centers on the voice and analog modular synthesizer, often exploring trance-like, ecstatic states through sound, and extends into video synthesis, installation, and live performance. He has collaborated with artists including Jóhann Jóhannsson, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Ben Russell, and Tarek Atoui.
